Celilo merino/silk fingering
Celilo is 75% Falklands merino wool combined with 25% silk in 4 ply fingering weight, sourced from Great Britain. It has the soft feel from the organic Falklands sheep with beautiful stitch definition and the glow from silk. It shines in lace work, cables, and color work. Its light and lofty texture makes for a lightweight and flexibly warm garment that is beautiful all year round.
This is the 2025 Spring Celebration set of colors. Lilac in particular is the celebration of my birthday. When my parents brought me home at the end of April, my grandmother had filled the house with lilac flowers, so it is the core flower of my life.
Celilo has returned to my business now that I am back home in Oregon. It is named after Celilo Falls, which was an incredible waterfall taken away by the dam on the Columbia river. It had a 15,000 year history of being home to indigenous people until 1957. This beautiful yarn honors their local history.
